Frequently Asked Questions
- Is there anything I have to do to prepare for this practice?
- Yes. Turn off your phone and any other distractions around you. Close all the windows on your laptop that aren't directly related to your writing. Close the door. Be as undistracted as you can possibly be for the 15 minutes of this practice and whatever time you have after to write.
- What is this course, exactly?
- It’s a series of 15-minute (ish) guided sessions designed to get you into a clear, creative, and focused mindset for writing. Each session blends light physical practice, breathwork, and guided visualization to help you actually arrive on the page.
- Is this a writing class?
- Not in the traditional sense. I don't teach structure, grammar, or craft. This is about helping you access the part of you that can write with ease, honesty, and flow.
- What happens in a 15-minute session?
- Each mini practice includes: Gentle physical movement to get out of your head Breath or grounding exercises A short guided visualization A transition into writing readiness You’ll leave each session ready to write immediately.
- Do I need any writing experience?
- No. This is for beginners, seasoned writers, and people who want to write but feel stuck or intimidated.
- What kind of writing is this for?
- Anything. Journaling, poetry, fiction, essays, professional writing, or creative projects. The goal is to unlock your natural voice and reduce creative resistance.
- What do you mean by “physical practice”?
- Simple, accessible movements. Nothing intense or complicated. Think stretching, shaking out tension, posture shift. Just enough to reconnect you with your body.
- What if I feel self-conscious doing the movement or visualization?
- That’s totally normal. You can adapt everything to your comfort level. Even doing a small version of the practice still works.
- Will this help with writer’s block?
- Yes, that’s one of the main intentions. Instead of forcing words, we work with the nervous system and mindset so writing becomes more natural and less pressured.
- Can I do this if I’m short on time?
- That’s the point. Each session is just 15 minutes. It's designed to fit into real life and make writing more accessible.
- What makes this different from just “sitting down and writing”?
- Most of us try to write from a distracted or tense state. These practices help you shift into a focused, embodied, and receptive state—where writing flows more easily.
